Outworkers Stories
These are outworkers stories. names have been changed to protect the identity of the women who contributed their stories to the Fair Wear campaign. It is vital to understand the extreme situation that many 1st generation migrants find themselves in when relocating to Australia. The fact that lifeskills such as teaching, journalism and other vocational skills are not recognised leaves many women in a position of isolation, subject to racism and exploitation that should never be tolerated in our community. In NSW, Fair Wear is integrally linked with Asian Women at Work, the cmmunity workers on the ground working with outworkers every day.
